Copyright: Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy The objective of this reform is to facilitate the accelerated deployment of renewable energy installations for the production of electricity. The reform shall be implemented with the entry into force of the Act on deployment of installations for the production of electricity from renewable energy and the adoption of a Decree laying down detailed rules for siting of photovoltaic installations.The upgrading of the reform promoting renewable energy sources in Slovenia represents a significant upgrade of the existing Reform promoting renewable energy sources in Slovenia (reference C1.K1.RA), which provides for the regulation of renewable energy sources usage at the national and local levels (municipalities) and the setting of a binding target for the share of energy from renewable sources in Slovenia's gross total final consumption. The scaled-up reform removes regulatory barriers to the deployment of renewable energy installations (solar PV and wind) in certain areas, such as roadsides, water surfaces, and rooftops. Furthermore, the reform also defines the competencies and procedures for overriding public interest.
