REbitumen (Recycled Ecological bitumen) - Co-financing of research innovation projects in support of green transition and digitalisation

The purpose of the project is the development of a new recycled content base product whose intended result is a new hydroisolation bitumen membrane with a reduced carbon footprint. The project is being carried out by Fragmat TIM d.o.o. in consortium with Intech-les, d.o.o.

The project aims at an improved product – a bituminous membrane with recycled polymer and ash as a filler to be used for buried parts of buildings and flat roofs. By replacing part of the classical ash filler, the project contributes to the transition to a circular economy, including pollution prevention and control. Another contribution to the field is the replacement of a part of the pure polymer by a recycled polymer, which also demonstrates its contribution to climate change mitigation. 

The improved product will be technologically neutral in terms of environmental impact, at the level of its stage. The bituminous membrane will be developed to a degree that will be validated in its final form and suitable for real-life use by entering the market.

The Recovery and Resilience Facility provides funding of EUR 299,982, while the total value of the investment is EUR 688,385. 

The project started in January 2023 and will be completed by December 2024.
