Realization of new Kindergarten Center - Preschool

Plan for nurseries and preschools and early childhood education and care services (Mission 4, Component 1, Investment 1.1)

Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan includes an investment plan for the 0-6 age group, aimed at increasing the supply of childcare facilities by building, renovating and ensuring the safety of nurseries and preschools, to ensure an increase in the educational offer and the available slots for the 0-6 age group, and thus improve teaching quality.

The measure is expected to encourage women’s participation in the labour market and support caregivers in reconciling family and professional life.

The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 3.2 billion.

As part of this investment, the project includes the construction of the new kindergarten centre. Work on the construction of the Riffredo kindergarten/nursery school has been in progress since November 2023, at a total cost of EUR 2,829,200.00, of which EUR 2,572,00.00 are NRRP funds.

The aim of the project is to realise a new kindergarten centre adjacent to the current primary school in the village, which overlooks the central square in Riffredo.

The project also envisages that the current nursery school will be transferred to the new premises and a new municipal nursery school will be opened, given the absence of this service in the entire Po valley.

In order to realise this project, the municipality has purchased the area on which to build the operation and has provided for the design of the new structure.
