Copyright: VeH2Dem The automotive industry company Applus + IDIADA, headquartered in Santa Oliva (Tarragona); EVARM, an engineering expert in converting professional vehicles to alternative fuels, and PreZero, an international provider of environmental services, are the three partners in a project to develop a prototype of an electric hydrogen-powered waste collection truck. The VeH2Dem project, funded with €891,675 from the NextGenerationEU funds, starts with a conventional heavy vehicle model with a diesel engine. The goal is to convert this vehicle into a zero-emission, efficient, fast-charging model with the necessary power to perform daily service. The project includes all stages of development up to the final validation and demonstration of the transformed vehicle under real driving conditions in 2025.
