Its story begins in 1764, when the boyar Barbu Poenaru built it.

The tower suffered two devastating fires and, following the earthquake of 1838, lost its upper floors.

Today, the school building includes all that is left of Kula Poenaru: a vestibule from where the stairs to the floors started and a large room, with sides of 8 meters, height of 5 meters, covered with a sumptuous vault, with four lunettes on each side.

The uniqueness of this tower lies in its remarkable frescoes. Two main rooms were part of the historical core of the old kula: the vault, richly decorated with stucco with plant motifs and medallions inspired by Aesop's fables, and the vestibule, also covered with a cylindrical vault.

All these promotion efforts are supported by the targeted campaigns that take place on the social media channels. The promotion campaign consists in: Highlighting tourism potential by focusing on promoting the natural heritage and showcasing iconic landmarks, traditions, and unique experiences through high-quality visuals, videos, and storytelling that appeal to both local and international audiences.

Engaging Digital Campaigns: Use social media platforms, websites, and influencer partnerships to reach a broader audience. Digital campaigns emphasize tourist attractions, restoration efforts and the long-term benefits for tourism development.

Collaborations with Travel Agencies and Tour Operators: Establish partnerships with travel industry stakeholders and create special travel packages and tours that align with the project's objectives.

Media Coverage and Public Relations: Generate press releases, organize press trips, and create content for media outlets to raise awareness about the project’s progress and impact on Romania’s attractiveness as a tourist destination.

Involving Local Communities: Promote the involvement of local communities in the revitalization of tourist sites, emphasizing sustainability and the creation of new opportunities for local businesses and entrepreneurs.
