The Drobeta castrum was built in the period between the two Dacian wars (103-105 AD), with the role of protecting a vital strategic area for the Roman Empire.

The fortification has a rectangular plan and dimensions of 123×137.50 m, being oriented north-south.

The Roman castrum at Drobeta was pointed out by Luigi Ferdinando Marsigli as early as 1689.

The first research was undertaken by Cezar Bolliac, then by the French archaeologist G.

Boissière, who specified the three main phases of the fort: Trajanic, Constantinian and Romano-Byzantine.

In the central area of the castrum was the headquarters building (principia).

Its inner courtyard was completely paved, being bordered laterally by two porticoes.

The entrance to the basilica was made through three openings with arches, which rested on four column bases.

At the northern end of the edifice was the sacred room, where the banners and the sacred images of the emperor and the ruling family were kept.

The promotion campaign consists in: Highlighting tourism potential by focusing on promoting the natural heritage and showcasing iconic landmarks, traditions, and unique experiences through high-quality visuals, videos, and storytelling that appeal to both local and international audiences.

Digital campaigns emphasize tourist attractions, restoration efforts and the long-term benefits for tourism development.

Collaborations with Travel Agencies and Tour Operators: Establish partnerships with travel industry stakeholders and create special travel packages and tours that align with the project's objectives.

Media Coverage and Public Relations: Generate press releases, organize press trips, and create content for media outlets to raise awareness about the project’s progress and impact on Romania’s attractiveness as a tourist destination.

Involving Local Communities: Promote the involvement of local communities in the revitalization of tourist sites, emphasizing sustainability and the creation of new opportunities for local businesses and entrepreneurs.
