The measure allocates also EUR 4.75 million to subsidize the installation of at least 1,000 charging points in public buildings, local authorities, SMEs and private households.Of these, 335 will be installed in publicly accesible points. Calls have been published for all these four schemes and by Mar 2025, more than 4254 applications have been approved on the basis of confirmed EV orders and around 2292 grants have been awarded for the purchase of electric vehicles, over 1400 approved applications and around 950 grants awarded for scrapping of polluting vehicles, applications have been approved for the installation of around 529 publicly accessible charging points for electric vehicles, and around 477 applications submitted from households for the installation of photovoltaic systems for charging electric vehicles. This package of measures is expected to help Cyprus towards its national target for the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, as Transport is responsible for 49% of non-ETS (Emissions Trading System) sectors GHG emissions, contributing significantly to increased environmental and public health impacts relating to air and noise pollution.More information on the schemes for the purchase of electric vehicles and for scrapping of polluting vehicles could be found www.ev.gov.cy.More information on the scheme for the creation of 1000 publicly accessible charging points for Electric Vehicles (“EV1000”) can be found here.More information on the scheme for households to install photovoltaics for charging their vehicles, could be found in a dedicated website.Top 100 recipientsUI: 90000158TMinistry of Energy, Commerce and Industry / Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Conservation Fund Copyright: Cypriot government ReferenceC2.2I3 | C2.2I2Project locations Cyprus EU contribution€45 000 000 Project websitehttp://www.ev.gov.cy/
