Programme to future-proof hospitals - Kliniken Beelitz GmbH

As Germany falls short in digitalization of hospitals in an international comparison, swift investments are needed to boost its digitalization efforts noticeably and sustainably.

Therefore, this funding programme is aimed at fostering modernisation and digitalisation of hospitals with a focus on improving their digital infrastructure, emergency capacities, telemedicine, robotics as well as IT and cyber security.

These investments are designed to enhance the health sector, future-proof its capabilities, and bring about significant improvements in medical care and patient autonomy.

They are further intended to ensure a consistently high standard of care over the long-term, while also unlocking new opportunities for medical professionals through the integration of digital technologies.

The implementation of the measure will be completed by 31 August 2026.

The programme to future-proof hospitals is part of the “Hospital Future Act”.
