Programme to accelerate economic recovery and transformation through research and innovation

The Recovery and Resilience Facility provides EUR 142 million to support Bulgaria’s research and innovation performance, technology transfer and information-sharing.

EUR 120 million go for the implementation of innovation programs by 10 research higher education institutions.

The Medical University in Pleven receives BGN 12 million from the RRP for the project "Rearch University: Medical University - Pleven". The project duration is 42 months.

Project objectives: 

The University will implement the Strategic Research and Innovation Programme, focusing on the following strategic areas: New technologies in medicine such as telemedicine, 3D medicine, cell and tissue technologies, stem cells and bioprinting, artificial intelligence, and robotic and minimally invasive interventions; oncology, oncogenetics, molecular pathology, and personalised medicine, health technology assessment, drug safety, and pharmaco-epidemiological approaches to ensure the rational use of medicines.
