Parental support and prevention of vulnerabilities for families and children

Supporting vulnerable people and preventing institutionalization  (Mission 5, component 2: Investment 1)

The objective of this measure is to support vulnerable people and preventing institutionalisation.

This investment will include the following interventions:

  1. supporting parenting skills and preventing vulnerability of families and children;
  2. supporting an autonomous life and de-institutionalisation for elderly people;
  3. reinforcing home social services to guarantee early supported discharge and prevent hospitalization;
  4. strengthening social services and preventing burnout among social workers.

The investment is financed by the Recovery and resilience plan by EUR 85 million at the national level.

As part of this investment, the project “Parental support and prevention of vulnerabilities for families and children” in Bologna aims at implementing an urban, stable and light system (“SMART”) to train multi-professional teams and help them elaborating a Framework Project, by considering the “World of the child” as a unique reference point.

The project will be developed via the activities of the Territorial integrated teams (ETI) and the progressive introduction of the RPM online, in order to design the Framework project in co-creation.

The ETI will develop and monitor the following actions:

  • Implementation of the method of Preliminary Analysis as an innovation provided by the guidance lines developed in the Services for Home Education of Bologna;
  • The deployment and strenghtening of integration and collaboration among services, schools and local associations, under the sign of solidarity among families, in order to accompany the child/teenager in several activities, by supporting parents in facing everyday difficulties and fostering the family’s integration in their territory;
  • the development of groups of parents/children in synergy with local resources within the local social services.

The project is currently ongoing and well advanced.

So far, 17 families have been reached in the framework of the project.

The project is financed by the RRP for EUR 211.500.
