Copyright: AJUNTAMENT DE CALAFELL The Vilamar Centre project, funded with €549,724.80 from the NextGenerationEU funds (50% of the total budget), aims to transform the pedestrian area of Calafel Beach into an open-air shopping center. The urban environment of this beach is one of the most tourist-visited areas in Baix Penedès, and the interventions, to be carried out on Vilamar Street and the cross streets to the promenade, aim to revitalize the area's shops. A unified image of the commercial offer will be created (with touch information rings, banners, and integrated signage), along with a mobile application to guide visitors through the establishments and help them find parking to facilitate access to this area, among other services. Additionally, there will be a change in the waste collection service model for businesses, shifting to a door-to-door system, as well as the provision of Wi-Fi areas and rest zones. Various types of mobile covers will also be set up to ensure shaded areas on Vilamar Centre streets, which will be installed according to the time of year.
