Copyright: Šternberk Municipality The Children and Youth Centre in Šternberk in the Olomouc Region has a new green roof, which is not only an aesthetic element, but above all a functional solution with clear advantages: it captures and uses rainwater, improves the microclimate around the building and saves on heating and maintenance costs. The extensive green planting protects the roof from weather fluctuations and at the same time helps to naturally cool the environment. The project also included insulation, including an extension and a connecting corridor, replacement of windows and doors and modification of the roof structures. The result is lower energy consumption, reduced CO₂ emissions and cost savings thanks to energy management.
