National Public Health Prevention Programme / Cervical Cancer Prevention

"Prolamvano" is a national public health prevention programme designed to cover nearly the entire population of Greece. It ensures that all eligible individuals have access to life-saving preventive care, contributing to early diagnosis and better health outcomes.

The programme provides free, easy, and quick access to preventive diagnostic screenings for breast cancer, cervical cancer, colorectal cancer, and cardiovascular risk.

Cervical Cancer Prevention

This programme is available to 2.5 million women aged 21-65 who reside in Greece and have a Social Security Number (AMKA). The free tests provided include:

  • Pap Test (for women aged 21-29).
  • Molecular HPV DNA Test (for women aged 30-65).
  • Colposcopy and biopsy, if necessary, performed by a specialized doctor in case of abnormal findings.
