Modernization, implementation of energy-saving measures and extension of the existing educational facilities of the Bacho Kiro Primary School - Veliko Tarnovo

"Bacho Kiro" primary school is one of the 26 educational institutions - schools and kindergartens, in V.Tarnovo, founded in 1972, with room for 31 classes and one for prep school, insufficient for conducting one-shift eductional process.

Despite the efforts of the municipal administration to renovate the school buildings, the funds are extremely insufficient to seriously improve the condition of the outworn educational infrastructure.

The project, financed with EUR 2,3 million from the Recovery and Resilience Facility, aims to interve on the school buildings, the latter chosen on the basis of a real need for major repairs of the poor structural characteristics of them and on transition to one shift educational process , building an accessible environment, introducing " green measures" through RES installations.

The school is one of the first municipal ones with a built-in STEM environment, financed in June 2021-April 2022 under the NP "Building a school STEM environment", stimulating students to acquire a system of competences in the study of natural sciences, mathematics and technologies, oriented towards practice and technological professions.
