Copyright: Croatian Government The objective of this EUR 29 million investment financed from the Croatian Recovery and Resilience plan is to modernise the railway section of Zagreb Kustošija – Zagreb Zapadni Kolodvor – Zagreb Glavni Kolodvor. This will improve the quality and availability of local and regional rail passenger transport, better integrate railways into the public transport system of the City of Zagreb, as well as increase the share of rail and local public transport in the wider area of Zagreb City. The plan is to reconstruct and upgrade 3.4 kilometres of double track railway line within 18 months from the signing of the contract in October 2022. Upon its completion, along with the railway reconstruction project on the Savski Marof-Zagreb West Station section, which is nearing the end, trains will be able to travel at 120 km/h from the Slovenian border to the centre of Zagreb.
