Modernisation of secondary vocational education training, including apprenticeships

The project aims to facilitate a better transition from education to the labour market. Secondary vocational and higher education programmes will be revamped, including by making better use of the opportunities offered by the open work curriculum and a greater focus on the acquisition of digital, green and other competences that future graduates will need to work in technologically advanced environments. The project is part of the reform to modernise secondary vocational education training, including apprenticeships.

New models of cooperation with employers will be developed and existing models of cooperation with employers in the delivery of educational programmes, including apprenticeships and practical training with employers, as well as the creation of digitally-enabled learning places, which will provide a digitally enabled pathway for the immediate transfer of information on the acquisition of practical knowledge and skills between the employer, school and pupil.

By developing modern models of professional pedagogy and didactics, teachers, lecturers, managers and those responsible for training in enterprises will be able to deliver quality education and training, use innovative teaching, training and assessment methods, and promote the development of professional, digital and green competences.

Project focuses on:
• identifiy competences and qualifications for the digital and green transitions;
• the quality of planning and implementation of secondary vocational and vocational training programmes at provider level;
• further development of apprenticeships and links between schools and businesses;
• digitally supported learning places in health, social care and early childhood education;
• renewal of higher education programmes (for the green and digital transitions);
• conduct events to increase the atrivity and quality of vocational education.

The Recovery and Resilience Facility provides funding of EUR 3.4 million, while the total cost of the project is EUR 3.7 million. The project started in January 2022 and will be finalised by June 2026.
