Copyright: Spanish Recovery Plan Unit Website The goal of the investment is to modernise the irrigation systems of the Marismas del Guadalquivir, the largest irrigation project funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan. The works cover more than 12,000 hectares and benefit 774 farmers. They include the installation of 320 kilometres of pressurised pipelines, hydrant networks, telecontrol systems, regulation reservoirs and pumping stations. The total investment exceeds €170 million, co-funded by NextGenerationEU, with farmers contributing 20% of the cost. The main civil works started in April 2024 and have already reached 35% execution. The intervention will improve water efficiency, reduce energy use and enhance the overall sustainability of agricultural production in the region.Additional links:https://planderecuperacion.gob.es/noticias/planas-visita-mayor-obra-modernizacion-regadios-marismas-guadalquivir-prtr ReferenceC3.I1Project locations Spain EU contribution€170 000 000 Project websitehttps://planderecuperacion.gob.es/...
