Modernisation of infrastructure and digitalisation in higher education institutions

The objective of the project is to create a comprehensive digital learning environment at the university, covering the full spectrum of training programs, based on knowledge-sharing methods that ensure more flexible and efficient learning. The COVID-19 pandemic served as a testing period for digital education and highlighted the university's role in maintaining societal adaptability. The university builds on the Creative Learning Program launched in 2020, which focuses on developing and assessing student competencies. The first pillar of the university's new organisational learning strategy is to improve digital pedagogical and learning skills and infrastructure that support practical education.

The framework for these developments, along with the organisational creation of digital pedagogical knowledge, is the establishment of a new network of Creative Learning Workshops (KTM), which is based on the principle of collaborative learning. The project combines technological developments with the advancement of pedagogical and learning methodologies and skills. The training infrastructure, technological, and service support will be implemented within the closed-system electronic distance learning infrastructure and the open-source learning support infrastructure built as part of the project.

The goals of the developments include enhancing the practical skill development of academic participants, improving the output efficiency of training programs, and expanding international educational network activity and mobility.

The project strategically connects six specific development goals:

  1. Building a digital infrastructure for research, innovation, and education,
  2. Supporting student, faculty, and researcher mobility and facilitating mobile access to digital tools,
  3. Developing the training technology and service support infrastructure,
  4. Enhancing practical skill development for academic participants,
  5. Increasing the output efficiency (labour market relevance) of training programs,
  6. Expanding international educational network activity and mobility.

The project is supported by EUR 5.9 million and will be completed by the end of February, 2026.
