Modernisation of the educational environment in the city of Lovech - implementation of energy efficiency measures, major renovation and reconstruction of Todor Kirkov Sec

The specific complex needs of the students at Todor Kirkov High School are related to the poor condition of the material-technical base, the low level of energy efficiency of the building and the difficult access for people with disabilities.

The main task of the project, financed with EUR 1,27 million from the Recovey and Resilience Facility, is to satisfy precisely these needs of the students. In the process of preparing the project, the following 3 target groups were identified:

  • Students;
  • Teachers;
  • Disadvantaged persons.

The expected results that this project proposal will achieve are:

  • Improving the material-technical base base at Todor Kirkov High School;
  • Increasing energy efficiency in the building of Todor Kirkov High School;
  • Improving the conditions for an accessible environment for people with disabilities.

The project proposal envisages the following construction works:

  • Thermal insulation of external walls, floors and roof.
  • Implementation of air-to-air heat pump units to achieve a favorable indoor microclimate.
  • Replacement of existing window frames;
  • Construction of a photovoltaic installation for the production of electrical energy for own needs;
  • Accompanying construction works to establishment a modern, healthy and accessible educational environment;
  • Ensuring an accessible environment for disadvantaged people.
