Modernisation of the customs system and implementation of electronic customs

The objective of the reform is to improve the administrative and operational capacity of the Romanian Customs Authority and to create favorable conditions for the transition of the customs activity to a fully electronic environment and the simplification of customs formalities.

Modernization of the customs system and the implementation of electronic customs

The modernization of the IT system of the Ministry of Finance in the customs field is considered, addressing issues related to IT infrastructure, as well as those complementary to them, necessary for the proper functioning of the systems, accompanied by simplified customs clearance procedures.

All the measures covered by the reform are expected to be implemented by 31 December 2025.
