District Sarafovo, Burgas is one of the fastest growing settlements in the city.
The main factor for this is the strategic location of the settlement, located along the Black Sea, its proximity to the city, Burgas Airport and resort complexes.
The rapid expansion of the neighborhood is confirmed by the high demand and supply of properties in the area, the increasing number of issued building permits and the increased number of registered temporary and permanent residents.
As the number of residents increases, social imbalances occur, such as a shortage of the capacity of the existing kindergarten and school.
The kindergarten was built in 1985, and in 2016 an additional building of the kindergarten was built, connected by a warm connection to the main building, for the needs of a nursery.
The lack of capacity for admission is also evidenced by the data on children enrolled in the kindergarten. As of the school year 2012/2013, the number of enrolled children in kindergarten "Alen Mak" was 134, and for the last 10 years the number of children has doubled – for 2022/2023 the children are 272.
The current state of the educational base, the filled capacity of the kindergarten and the future socio-demographic characteristics of the city of Burgas, in general and district Sarafovo in particular, impose the need to consider and expand the available school base in accordance with the state educational standards defined by the Ordinance on the Physical Environment and the Information and Library Provision of Kindergartens, Schools and Personal Development Support Centers.
The investment, financed with EUR 0,367 million from the Recovery and Resilience Facility, envisages activities for the introduction of energy efficiency measures and modernization of the building as a whole.
