Municipality of Burgas implements a targeted policy for renovation of the building stock and the introduction of EE measures in public buildings, with schools and kindergartens being a priority.
Significant resources are allocated for the modernization of the educational infrastructure on the territory of the municipality, the ultimate goal is to complete the entire renewal cycle, but due to the large number of educational institutions and the limited financial resources, there are still institutions with minimal or partial renewal.
The building of Anton Strashimirov School was built in 1974 and over the years, only partial repairs and improvements of the facilities have been carried out and there is no completeness in terms of the overall modernization of the buildings and material stock of the school.
The purpose of the project, financed with EUR 2,3 million from the Recovery and Resilience Facility, is to provide an attractive, modern and accessible educational environment by updating the facilities of Anton Strashimirov School Burgas, leading to unleashing the potential of students to acquire new knowledge in an attractive and accessible environment.
As a result of identified needs to modernize the building stock of the institution, improve the energy efficiency class and the comfort of living in the building and ensure the necessary access of disabled persons to and inside the building, activities are planned to introduce energy efficiency measures, internally and exterior beautification and modernization of the building, ensuring accessibility.
Delivery of new furniture and equipment tailored to the needs of the educational institution is planned in order to achieve complex renovation and modernization.
