KRPAN: Strengthening Research Support and Activities for Progress on European Research Projects
krpan-projekt.si

The project aims to strengthen professional research support in partner research organisations and improve the quality of project applications for Horizon Europe calls and other centralised European programmes.

The project is implemented by a consortium of five partners:  University of Ljubljana (leading partner), University of Maribor, Jožef Stefan Institute, University of Primorska and ZRS Koper.

The objectives of the project are to strengthen research support and increase staffing capacity in partners’ project offices, to improve the skills and competences to write applications for European competitive calls, and to find additional opportunities for interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral networking of researchers in partner organisations.

To achieve the objectives, the partners will employ 6 persons in project offices and organise a total of 40 events, including 16 training sessions on improving the quality of European project applications, 5 good practice exchange events, 8 networking events for researchers with national and international partners to jointly apply for European research calls, 7 working (study) visits to successful research organisations in Europe, and practitioners will meet in 4 consortium meetings, two meetings with all consortia under this call. They will also carry out other advisory, information and promotion activities in the field of European projects.

Various training events, networking and exchange of good practices, study visits and consortia meetings will ensure the synergistic effects of the objectives set and increase and strengthen cooperation between them. The activities of the Krpan project will proactively contribute to improving the quality of partners’ project applications, making project applications more successful and sustainably improving professional research support in the field of application and management of European research projects.

The Recovery and Resilience Facility provides funding of EUR 1.24 million.

The project started in April 2023 and will be completed by June 2026.
