The project's objective is to conserve and showcase the remains of the castle on-site, with the aim of expanding the local tourist offerings. The comprehensive renovation within the project will focus on key areas, including the castle tower, basement, chapel, and staircase. These elements will be meticulously restored, and the rooms will be redesigned to facilitate presentations and a multimedia experience. This strategic approach is intended to offer visitors a deeper understanding of the castle's historical role and its contemporary significance within the local environment.

Financial support for this initiative is provided by the Recovery and Resilience Facility, contributing EUR 1.1 million to a project valued at EUR 1.5 million in total. The Ministry of Culture formalized its commitment by signing a co-financing contract with the Municipality of Tolmin in November 2022. This collaboration underscores the joint effort of national and local entities in the preservation and enhancement of the cultural heritage represented by the castle.

The anticipated conclusion of the castle's renovation is set for December 2025. Beyond the physical restoration, the project's emphasis on multimedia experiences and presentations is poised to make the site a dynamic and engaging destination. This approach not only contributes to the conservation of historical remnants but also enriches the local tourism offerings, making the castle a more attractive and informative destination for visitors by the project's completion.
