School building security and structural rehabilitation plan (Mission 4 – Component 1 - Investment 3.3)

Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan contributes to climate recovery also by enhancing school buildings’ safety and energy consumption.

In particular, this measure aims to contribute to the improvement of energy classes and leading to lower consumption and CO2 emissions as well as to increase structural safety of buildings.

Particular attention is paid to the most disadvantaged areas with the aim of tackling and eliminating economic and social imbalances.

The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 4.4 billion.

The project is part of this investment.

The Istituto Superiore "Enrico Fermi" is located in a building included in the school complex of Via San Giovanni Bosco 11 in Ciriè.

The building consists of a building that is spread over four floors, of which three above ground and one basement.

On the various floors are housed the following premises: in the basement the warehouses, the archive, the technical rooms and toilets on the mezzanine floor the secretariats, administrative, treasurer, the presidency, the teachers room, the switchboard, classrooms, atrium and toilets on the first and second floors a dozen classrooms and a laboratory per floor, in addition to the toilet on the third floor: eight classrooms, two laboratories and toilets.

The planned works can be summarized as follows: removal of the current simple glass, premises on the mezzanine floor and third installation of laminated safety glass, composed of two slabs sp.3 mm. and film interposed in PVB application of security film and shielding in the rooms classrooms restoration of the roofing mantle and the faldelerie of the central body removal of technological ceiling installations to the various floors installation of false ceiling with slabs Anti-melting safety of the ceilings with installation of anti-melting network galvanized installation of new LED lighting fixtures with steel ceiling.
