School building security and structural rehabilitation plan (Mission 4 – Component 1 - Investment 3.3)

Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan contributes to climate recovery also by enhancing school buildings’ safety and energy consumption.

In particular, this measure aims to contribute to the improvement of energy classes and leading to lower consumption and CO2 emissions as well as to increase structural safety of buildings.

Particular attention is paid to the most disadvantaged areas with the aim of tackling and eliminating economic and social imbalances.

The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 4.4 billion.

The project is part of this investment.

The Istituto Superiore "Galileo Galilei" is located in a building included in the school complex of Via San Giovanni Bosco, 9 in Ciriè.

The building consists of a building that is spread over five floors, of which four above ground and one basement.

The planned works are: removal of the current window frames of the main facade, office premises basement, mezzanine, main entrance doors, facade side security staircase and facade side main staircase, for a total of about 425 m² supply and installation of thermal break windows with rounded edges, opening with door or wasistas, with laminated safety glazing formed by external 33.2 slab, 15 mm cavity with argon gas, 44.1 internal plate, with low emissive or selective inner glass depending on the exposure to the limiter opening on each door and panic handle, depending on the occurrence.
