School building security and structural rehabilitation plan (Mission 4 – Component 1 - Investment 3.3)

Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan contributes to climate recovery also by enhancing school buildings’ safety and energy consumption. In particular, this measure aims to contribute to the improvement of energy classes and leading to lower consumption and CO2 emissions as well as to increase structural safety of buildings.

Particular attention is paid to the most disadvantaged areas with the aim of tackling and eliminating economic and social imbalances.

The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 4.4 billion. The project is part of this investment.

The Istituto Superiore Tommaso D'Oria is located southwest of the Municipality of Cirié in via Prever n.13, a road parallel to via Torino and adjacent to the artery of communication with the airport area of Caselle Torinese.

The interventions in the project are aimed at the redevelopment of outdoor spaces and focused on sports spaces and equipment.

It is expected the complete remaking of the sports plates of the playing field adjacent to the gym, the track and the long jump.

The playing field will be prepared for the amateur activities of basketball, volleyball and handball, with specific tracks.

In addition, the project includes the reconstruction of the walking areas and the connection in self-locking, arranged around the buildings.

To supplement the works planned for complete accessibility to the complex, it is planned to replace the lift system, with hydraulic traction. While for the energy improvement we will replace the facade panels of the entrance hall advanced body, now made of sheet metal with simple glasses, with new insulated sandwich panels and fixtures with double glazing low emissive triple laminated and argon glass interposed.
