Copyright: Città metropolitana di Torino School building security and structural rehabilitation plan (Mission 4 – Component 1 - Investment 3.3)Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan contributes to climate recovery also by enhancing school buildings’ safety and energy consumption.In particular, this measure aims to contribute to the improvement of energy classes and leading to lower consumption and CO2 emissions as well as to increase structural safety of buildings.Particular attention is paid to the most disadvantaged areas with the aim of tackling and eliminating economic and social imbalances.The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 4.4 billion.The project consisting in structural interventions is part of this investment.The complex is located in Rivarolo (TO) and is a complex of buildings on a substantially flat site, located within the urbanized area of the city, less than two hundred meters from the perimeter of the historic center located on Corso Torino.The road system has rather small widths and circumscribes a trapezoidal block.Except for three residential buildings of different ages and sizes located in the southeast corner, the entire block houses education facilities: a municipal school in the north and the high school complex in the central and southern part.In recent years the municipal primary school was demolished and the lot turned into a public garden with an adjoining play area.The built around is mainly residential, declined in different forms; is an exception the Institute Santissima Annunziata, located in a complex adjacent to the north, annexed to the convent and the church of San Francesco d'Assisi.The works consist of: rebuilding of buildings and water toilets; replacement of rei doors; restoration of walls and railings of the entrance staircase; replacement of the interior doors of the bathroom block; interior painting and replacement of exterior windows.Top 100 recipients:CITTÀ METROPOLITANA DI TORINO Copyright: Città metropolitana di Torino ReferenceM4C1Project locations Italy EU contribution€4 400 000 000
