Irrigation Modernisation Projects in Girona (Colomers & Pals)

The goal of the investment is to modernise two irrigation areas in Girona Colomers and Pals—covering 3,492 hectares and benefiting 1,274 farmers. 

The project will deliver pressurised irrigation networks, reservoirs, pumping stations, photovoltaic plants and digital telecontrol systems to reduce water use and energy costs. 

The total public investment amounts to €43.36 million under the Recovery and Resilience Plan, with up to 80% co-financed through NextGenerationEU funds.

Works are currently underway, supervised by SEIASA, and form part of a broader €140.83 million programme for irrigation sustainability in Catalonia.
