IPCEI Hy2Tech: Genvia's gigafactory of electrolysers plant to produce clean hydrogen

IPCEI Hy2Tech: Genvia's gigafactory of electrolysers plant to produce clean hydrogen

Founded on 15 years of R&D within the CEA (French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission), and more than 40 patents, Genvia's project is part of the first IPCEI wave "Hy2tech".

The start-up, owned by Schlumberger New Energy, Vinci Construction, Vicat and the Occitanie Region, embodies the energy transition by moving from oil and gas to clean tech: located in the former industrial site of Schlumberger, Genvia is industrialising a breakthrough technology in the production of hydrogen (high temperature solide oxide technology electrolyser), which will be used in hard to decarbonise industrial processes, such as cement and steel manufacturing.

Genvia’s first client is an Arcelor Mittal plan, located in Saint Chély d’Apcher, which also received an RFF grant of EUR 3.2 million to decarbonise its production lines.
