Copyright: Rijkswaterstaat This investment, which receives EUR 128.9 billion from the Recovery and Resilience Facility, aims to replace existing roadside stations (WKS), i.e. devices next to road lanes that can communicate with electronic road signs, with intelligent roadside stations (iWKS) with increased functionalities. Intelligent roadsite stations aim to reduce congestion and improve the traffic jams and a better and faster spread of road traffic across alternative routes. So far, 109 iWKS have been installed.
