The objective of the investment is to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions by phasing out the most polluting road transport vehicles in cities and regions and by increasing the share of renewables in the transport sector. Support for installation of private vehicle charging infrastructure in households, apartment yards, and workplaces is expected to incentivise citizens to switch to clean transport. In total, 53,200 charging units will be installed by the end of June 2026, supported by EUR 44.6 million from the Recovery and Resilience facility. The measure started in September 2022, households and businesses are being invited to submit their applications. More information can be found on the project webpage here (in Lithuanian).
