One of the objectives of the Dutch RRP is to strengthen the public healthcare sector and pandemic preparedness of the Dutch healthcare system. To achieve this, several measures are being put in place. One of them is the extension of intensive care units of Dutch hospitals. This is accomplished by providing financial support for 54 hospitals to adapt their facilities, among these is Radboud Universitair Medisch Centrum. The adaptation is necessary to enable the increase of the number of fixed and flexible beds at the intensive care units.
