The project, financed with EUR 2,2 million from the Recovery and Resilience Facility, is aimed at improving energy efficiency in "Hr. Smirnenski" Primary School, Nova Zagora, as a prerequisite for achieving a modern, safe and favorable educational environment. The activities of the project are: laying thermal insulation, putty with a reinforcing mesh, thermal insulation of the roof boards, installing thermal insulation on the ceilings and on the floors, replacing the compromised windows, installing an air-to-air heat pump for heating and cooling, improving access to each floor for vulnerable groups of the population. It is planned to install a stationary type photovoltaic system with a total installed power of 70.65 kWp. They fully correspond to goal 3 of the Plan for Integrated Development of the Municipality of Nova Zagora 2021-2027: "Protection and improvement of the environment, preservation and enrichment of cultural heritage, improvement of the quality of life and development of human capital.", priority 9 : "Improving the health, educational, social and cultural infrastructure, integrating minority groups and improving the quality of life." and specific objectives 1 and 2, as follows: "Increasing the quality of the services offered, repair, equipment and implementation of measures to increase of the energy efficiency of the health, social, educational and cultural infrastructure" and Improving the quality of life and providing adequate infrastructure in areas inhabited by minority groups".
