Implementation of electronic customs

Objective: Upgrading customs IT infrastructure with software and hardware investments, enhancing functionality and security, including security solutions for data protection and controlled access.

The total value of the Project is 13.648.588 EUR

The Integrated Customs Information System is operational starting with March 2023.

Implementation of the investment: 100%. To meet this target, a number of six public procurement procedures were carried out and the investments were made.

The Integrated Customs Information System benefits from March 2023 with a data storage and processing system, an Oracle hardware and software product, named EXADATA, purchased through a PNRR project. The security platform was replaced by a PNRR project and is divided into two functional areas, the Intranet area and the Internet area. The Checkpoint security solution ensures the following benefits:

1. Ensure a high degree of availability of the IT security infrastructure of the Customs Integrated Information System;
2. Ensure the protection of data managed within the Customs Integrated Information System;
3. Aligning the Ministry of Finance with the strategies assumed and with the efforts undertaken at the national level, in the field of critical infrastructure protection;
4. Provides secure access control to systems/applications;
5. Ensure controlled access of users from the Internet to the Customs Integrated Information System components;
6. Ensure access via VPN using digital certificates for authentication, to customers from the Internet to the systems/applications of the customs system, thus ensuring the VPN connection to the infrastructure of the Customs Integrated Information System of over 2400 end users and over 5000 economic operator users. Within the security solution, two certification authorities are configured, one integrated at the level of the Check Point component, the second being an internal Windows Server certification authority.
