Immediate detection of water leaks in the municipal supply network of Alaior.

The water supply improvement and leakage reduction project in Alaior (Menorca) is funded by NextGenerationEU.

It involves installing a georeferenced location system to prevent unnecessary water losses and enable immediate leak detection.

In the water supply network of this municipality with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants, 236 sensors will be permanently installed.

These devices will enable early detection of water leaks.

Consequently, the municipality will have daily information on potential water leaks, reducing intervention time in case of incidents.

It is estimated that this system will reduce water losses by 25%.
