Copyright: Città metropolitana di Torino School building security and structural rehabilitation plan (Mission 4 – Component 1 - Investment 3.3)Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan contributes to climate recovery also by enhancing school buildings’ safety and energy consumption.In particular, this measure aims to contribute to the improvement of energy classes and leading to lower consumption and CO2 emissions as well as to increase structural safety of buildings.Particular attention is paid to the most disadvantaged areas with the aim of tackling and eliminating economic and social imbalances.The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 4.4 billion.The project consisting in structural interventions is part of this investment.The IIS "Ettore Majorana" of Turin is located in the southern suburbs, in the area occupied by school buildings comprised between Via Nallino, Via Frattini, the Parco Lineare Tazzoli that develops next to the homonymous course and the border with the ATC residential settlement.Originally there were two schools of lower education: a secondary school built in the 1960s (hereinafter referred to as Body A) and a primary school built a decade later (hereinafter Body B).The merger, following the transfer of responsibility in 1998 from the Municipality of Turin to the Province of Turin, made it necessary at the beginning of 2000 to build a central liaison body (hereinafter referred to as Body C).The contract provides for the seismic adaptation of the central body, occupied by classrooms and laboratories.The following completion and finishing works related to the structural works and their preservation: localized restorations of plaster and exterior painting are also planned; marble frames on the facades; partitions; infills; screeds, floors and walls; sidewalks and pedestrian ramps.Top 100 recipients:CITTÀ METROPOLITANA DI TORINO Copyright: Città metropolitana di Torino ReferenceM4C1Project locations Italy EU contribution€4 400 000 000
