Copyright: Città metropolitana di Torino School building security and structural rehabilitation plan (Mission 4 – Component 1 - Investment 3.3)Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan contributes to climate recovery also by enhancing school buildings’ safety and energy consumption.In particular, this measure aims to contribute to the improvement of energy classes and leading to lower consumption and CO2 emissions as well as to increase structural safety of buildings.Particular attention is paid to the most disadvantaged areas with the aim of tackling and eliminating economic and social imbalances.The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 4.4 billion.The project is part of this investment.The building that houses the branch of the Secondary Education Institute "Baldassano - Roccati" is located in Carmagnola, in Piazza Sant'Agostino 24, in the block between Via Zucchetta, Via Conte di Carmagnola (Piazza Berti), Via Baldessano and Via Cavassa (Piazza Rayneri).The building is subject to a bond of historical and artistic interest pursuant to Legislative Decree no.42/2004 and is located in the historic center of the city, in the regulatory area of PRGC 3.SG.03 for general services for secondary education.The building presents situations of degradation within the environments, due to the natural wear and tear of some buildings, the interventions of plant adaptation that have occurred over time and the interventions of seismic adjustment, although necessary for use.All the internal rooms and the corridor are currently abandoned, with obvious traces of the safety work, consisting of structural works such as chains and contrast plates in view and reinforcement structures in the rooms of the wall taps.The project involves: the demolition of the volume built in the last century to house the toilets and the remaking of the continuity of the facade behind solid brick, with reconstruction interventions ""sewn-scuci"" in correspondence of the gaps and missing parts left visible on the main sleeve; the demolition of the balcony verandah of posthumous construction and restoration of continuity of existing plastered facade (also posthumous) as well as the existing openings with the use of color similar to that of the surrounding plastered facades; reconstructions of the plasters and the interior parts.It is also planned to build a new library in the central room, with replacement of the current attic, and finishing works necessary for the reuse of all the premises.Top 100 recipients:CITTÀ METROPOLITANA DI TORINO Copyright: Città metropolitana di Torino ReferenceM4C1Project locations Italy EU contribution€4 400 000 000
