
The project "Health Infrastructure - NHS Hospital Renovation and Infrastructure Upgrade" concerns the construction, maintenance, modernization and expansion of the building infrastructure of the National Health System of Greece.
Specifically, interventions will be implemented in 80 Public Hospitals in all seven (7) Health Regions of the country.
Interventions vary by hospital unit and generally include: construction of new main, auxiliary buildings, renovation and upgrade of the Emergency Departments, renovation of nursing wards, upgrade of electromechanical installations and hydraulic systems, reconstruction of bathrooms and WC, etc.
The project is expected to contribute to the general upgrading of the hospital infrastructure and the provision of better quality healthcare services to citizens within the public health system. The total RRF contribution amounts to € 254 million.
The tasks carried out at the "TZANEIO" Piraeus General Hospital cover an approximate total area of 4,000m² and involve extensive interventions for the renovation, reconstruction, and primarily the upgrading and modernization of the Nursing Departments and hygiene areas of the Hospital.
In summary, it includes the complete renovation and modernization of 8 nursing units on the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th floors of the main building. More specifically, it includes the creation of 32 new bathrooms, the complete reconstruction of 18 WC complexes and the renovation and modernization of the nursing wards, offices and other supporting areas of the nursing units.
