The goal of the project was to create wetland habitat conditions for mitigating climatic extremes, both precipitation and runoff, and partially temperature. The retention capacity of the wetland moderates direct runoff during torrential rainfall and prevents water erosion, while in the dry season it subsidizes the surrounding soil with water. In addition, the increased vapor in the summer months cools the immediate surroundings, in the winter it increases the temperature of the surroundings. Last but not least, the implementation resulted in the creation of more favourable conditions for the settlement of the biotope by wetland communities, thereby increasing biodiversity in the area under consideration.
