Greek Smart Cities - Rhodes

The project aims to gradually transform the Municipality of Rhodes into a ‘Smart City’ through the development of new infrastructure, digital platforms and IT systems.

The smart city solutions shall enable the use of technology, information and open data to improve city infrastructure and e-services, with the ultimate goal of improving citizens’ quality of life, promoting sustainability, and boosting the city’s competitiveness.

The project includes:

• Fire Protection System with Smart CCD Cameras and Multi-Sensory Detectors
• Smart Pedestrian Crossing System
• Smart Building Energy Management System
• Vehicle Traffic Management System
• Remote Care System with Smartwatch and Wristband
• Sensor Network in School Buildings for Air Quality, Pollution, and Structural Vibration Monitoring
• Unified Smart City and Cybersecurity Monitoring Platform

The total budget amounts to €3,197,025.72, of which €2,578,246.55 is financed through the RRF contribution.
