Greek Smart Cities - Nikaia/Agios Ioannis Renti

The project aims to gradually transform the Municipality of Nikaia/Agios Ioannis Renti into a ‘Smart City’ through the development of new infrastructure, digital platforms and IT systems.

The smart city solutions shall enable the use of technology, information and open data to improve city infrastructure and e-services, with the ultimate goal of improving citizens’ quality of life, promoting sustainability, and boosting the city’s competitiveness.

The project includes:

  • Environmental Monitoring Stations for Quality of Life
  • Mobile Noise Measurement Stations
  • Central Smart City Platform
  • Data Aggregation and Intelligent Analysis Services
  • Smart City Performance Indicators System
  • Smart City Operations and Management Center
  • Open Data Portal
  • Smart digital tools for financial management
  • Interactive digital services for citizens and enterprises.
  • Establishment of a high-speed communications network connecting key municipal facilities and public areas through leased dark fiber infrastructure.
  • Energy Management and Control System for the Municipal Electricity and Lighting Network
  • Smart Green Space Management System
  • Waste Collection Fleet Management System

The total budget amounts to €2,968,095, of which €2,393,625 is financed through the RRF contribution.
