The project aims to gradually transform the Municipality of Larissa into a ‘Smart City’ through the development of new infrastructure, digital platforms and IT systems.

The smart city solutions shall enable the use of technology, information and open data to improve city infrastructure and e-services, with the ultimate goal of improving citizens’ quality of life, promoting sustainability, and boosting the city’s competitiveness.

The project includes:

  • Integrated Smart Parking System: It involves the development of a comprehensive smart parking system, including controlled short-term on-street parking and integration with existing municipal parking facilities. The aim is to improve parking space management, enhance user convenience, and provide additional services such as illegal parking detection and enforcement.
  • Infrastructure and Systems for a Smart City: It encompasses actions across multiple Smart City pillars, including Smart Mobility, Smart Living, Smart Environment, Smart Economy, Smart People, and Smart Governance. The goal is to develop infrastructure and digital systems that enhance urban mobility, environmental management, healthcare services, and various other aspects of city life — creating a more efficient, sustainable, and citizen-focused urban environment.

The total budget amounts to €4,629,735, of which €3,733,657 is financed through the RRF contribution.
