Funicular in Nazare

The new infrastructure (still in the contract signed phase) will aim to facilitate the connection between the urban area of the village and Pederneira, contributing to the reduction of road traffic, the work is part of an urban mobility strategy that aims to reduce the motor vehicle circulation on short routes and improve the quality of life of the population. 

The Pederneira Funicular was designed to carry up to 40 passengers per trip, with a capacity of 300 people per hour, in each direction. It is intended for daily use of the population and not for tourist purposes.
