Establishment of national research and development laboratories

The vision of the National Laboratory for Health Security is to create the scientific basis for data and analysis-based decision making in the fields of health, disease prevention and ecosystems in our country. 

The three areas are closely intertwined and new synergies will be created through innovative surveillance systems, big data methods and mathematical modelling. The Laboratory will bring together and coordinate research groups that have been working in isolation in the country, fostering networking and creating a collaborative research community with high visibility on the international scene. 

The project is supported by EUR 18 914 467. It will be completed by the end of February, 2026.
