Copyright: SPIRIT, Slovenia Business Development Agency The objective of the reform is to accelerate the transition to a circular economy for resource efficiency.A strategic and legal framework for the transition to a circular economy was be put in place to extend producer responsibility and promote the integration of recycled materials in new products.The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation entered into force on 24 April 2021 and the Decree on Waste entered into force on 15 June 2021. As part of the reform, a one-stop shop was also established on 10 May 2022 to support businesses, in particular small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the transition to a circular economy.The reform shall establish green budgetary planning by introducing a methodology aimed at identifying and assessing elements of the public budget that affect environmental policies.
