Environmental restoration of areas affected by closed coal mines

With an execution budget of 6 million euros, it will enable the rehabilitation of 38 hectares in the municipality of Mequinenza, and will create 12 jobs on average per year until 2023, using mining surpluses and local population, and a Centre will be set up to promote tourism. 

The Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) and the Government of Aragon have signed the agreement for the environmental restoration of areas affected by closed coal mining operations in the Aragonese regions.
