Ensuring cybersecurity of public and private entities owning critical value infrastructure

Entry into force of the law on Defence and Cyber Security of Romania

Objective of the reform:  A continuation of the process of strengthening the resilience of the public and private entities owning critical infrastructure against cyber risks.

Result: The Law on Defence and Cyber Security of Romania, no. 58/2023  - Initiator: Romanian Government

Essential: The law establish the legal and institutional framework for organising and conducting activities in the fields of cybersecurity and cyber defence, cooperation mechanisms and responses of institutions in the fields concerned.

Benefits: To define and maintain an secure virtual environment, with a high degree of resilience and confidence, based on national cyber infrastructures, which would constitute an important support for national security and good government, who maximize the benefits for citizens, businesses and the Romanian society as a whole."
