The goal of the reform is to amend the legislative framework to allow better management of tourism development while encouraging business investment in innovation.

The reform will be achieved through several measures including the adoption of the new Tourism Act and the Strategy for the Sustainable Development of Tourism until 2030. This will be supported by two investments that will contribute to the resilience and diversification of tourism while speeding up the green and digital transition, both to be implemented by the end of 2025.

The Recovery and Resilience Facility provides funding of EUR 1.3 million for the reform to increase the resilience and competitiveness of the tourism sector, EUR 123 million for the investment into regional diversification and specialisation and EUR 166 million for the investment to strengthen the competitiveness and fostering green and digital transition.

The Strategy for the Sustainable Development of Tourism until 2030 was adopted at the end of 2022. Public calls for two investments were published in October 2022.
