The project aims at modernising the low-voltage electricity distribution network to meet the needs of connecting energy generators, renewable energy sources, heat pumps and e-mobility.

Within the project 59 transformer stations and 91 km of new low voltage grid will be built.

The objective of the project is to adapt the distribution network capacity to allow for increased electricity demand from renewable energy sources, to accelerate the integrated development and management of the distribution network for increased capacity, resilience to disruptions, advancedness, connectivity and flexibility.

This will enable the use of flexibility of resources and loads, the integration of heat pumps, the accelerated deployment of e-mobility and the integration of electricity generation and storage facilities from regenerated energy sources.

The Recovery and Resilience Facility provides funding of EUR 4.5 million, while the total value of the investment is EUR 10 million.

The project started in June 2023 and will be finalised in June 2026.
